Position Summary
The Data Compliance Manager works with assigned accounts to manage ongoing data privacy compliance efforts for MatrixPoint clients. You will be responsible for managing and maintaining current data inventories, policies and procedures, employee on-boarding and education, as well as providing general guidance on compliance matters.
A MatrixPoint Data Compliance Manager is well-versed in current data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc), has a keen understanding of digital marketing and how data is used in modern media and advertising, understanding of legal guidelines, and corporate governance best practices. You are a professional of high ethical standards and work diligently to complete your duties keeping in mind the objectives of the client’s business. You must be comfortable saying “no”, or pointing out questionable data practices when necessary and above all, be result-oriented.

Responsibilities
- Manage and keep current data inventories and data maps
- Administer compliance software on the clients’ behalf
- Receive, validate and respond to consumer data access requests
- Provide ongoing training, education, and updates on changing regulations to clients’ leadership teams and staff members
- Evaluate clients’ vendors and various marketing programs
- Oversee control systems to prevent or deal with violations of privacy regulations and/or internal privacy policies and procedures
- Evaluate the efficiency of controls and improve them continuously
- Update and revise procedures, reports, etc. periodically as laws change or business needs require
- Collaborate with clients’ corporate counsels and HR departments to monitor enforcement of standards and regulations
- Assess the clients’ future initiatives to identify possible compliance risks
- Review the work of clients’ data stakeholders when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training
- Keep current with regulatory developments as well as evolving best practices in data privacy and compliance
- Prepare reports for client management and external regulatory bodies as appropriate
Requirements
- Proven understanding of data privacy laws and their impact on businesses
- Knowledge of the digital advertising and marketing landscape
- Excellent knowledge of reporting procedures and record-keeping
- A business acumen partnered with a dedication to helping client businesses succeed through transparency and trust
- Methodical and diligent with outstanding planning abilities
- An analytical mind able to “see” the complexities of procedures and regulations
- Excellent communication skills
- 3 years in a professional services business role
- BS/BA in data science, law, finance, business administration, or related field
- Certified data compliance professional is a plus
Salary commensurate with experience
Position may be based in Irvine CA or Remote
